Happy New Year from the Dolphin Quest and Pirate Ship!

Happy New Year … in advance! Tomorrow is the first day of 2024 and we are excited for the new season to come. Our New Year Resolution is to sail the high seas in search of treasure, tell tall tales of our pirating adventures, and say hello to every single dolphin that crosses our path!

Looking ahead, February is going to be an exciting month. Why? Well, it’s never too early to start planning your Valentine’s Day adventure! Nothing screams romance like rubbing elbows with the pirates - or embarking on a gorgeous sunset cruise with your sweetheart.

Not to mention, the Gasparilla Pirate Fest is quickly approaching, and we’re stoked that the historically accurate pirate ship Royal Conquest will be sailing the waters of Boca Ciega Bay during the festivities! For us, every day is a pirate fest after all…

DOLPHINS TAKE NO HOLIDAYS

Did you know that in Boca Ciega Bay, around 450 Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins live year round? While many of the world’s species of dolphin are migratory, including other Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins, those that call Boca Ciega Bay home really love it here!

That means that year round, the dolphins can be seen playing, hunting and doing dolphin stuff. We often get asked, “When is the best season for dolphin viewing?” The answer to that is simple: in Boca Ciega Bay, it’s all year!

January is a little cooler on the water, but don’t worry - we’ve got blankets! Come out and see the dolphins in their natural habitat in January.
